September 17, 2026 marked the fifth anniversary of the inauguration of the administrative bodies of the Guangdong–Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. By August 2026, the zone had more than 8,200 Macao-invested enterprises, up over 76% from five years earlier. More than 5,700 operated in the four emerging industries, an increase of over 80%. The number of Macao youth entrepreneurship projects exceeded 410, up more than 130% over the same period.
